Hi everyone, hope you all had a merry Christmas and thank you so much for your prayers! I just got discharged to go home from my first round of chemo recently on 12/23 just in time for Christmas (Praise God!!). I have heard from many of you that you pray for me daily and it’s so encouraging to hear that you are covering me so much! Many times here I have experienced answered prayers after prayer requests are shared (gum pain, eye inflammation, bleeding, biopsy results…etc), which is why I will keep greedily asking for prayers 😁. I would love to return the favor by praying for you as well. It would also help me grow in my prayer life. Please please share your prayer requests with me! I have been home for a few days now and it’s been great, and if the next bone marrow biopsy result comes back clean, I will go back to the hospital again in 1-2 weeks for my 2nd round of chemo. We will need prayers in the following areas:
- That the biopsy next Monday also comes back cancer free which would mean I am in complete remission, since it will determine if I can do a shorter consolidation chemo or has to do another round of induction
-A perfect 10/10 match donor for the bone marrow transplant (it is possible to do 9/10 but more risks are involved)
-Our caregiver got sick so she won’t be able to come cook/take care of me and Belle until she gets better (prayer for fast recovery)
- My mom is flying in on 12/28, so safe travels and health protection (no sickness so she can see me safely)
- I started seeing flashing lights on the sides of my eyes even when they are closed. Dr immediately ordered a brain MRI which I did today and hopefully it’s nothing serious, but just migraine related.
- I have been having trouble falling asleep since I got home, which might be contributing to the eye problems. Please pray for really good sleep!
- There is a small part of my gum that’s separating from my back molar and it’s creating a pocket that could trap food. Prayers that it will heal and won’t lead to any infections which could be very dangerous when I’m immunocompromised
- Please continue to pray that my ovaries are protected and won’t lead to infertility!
- And please pray for Jeff as well since taking care of a cancer patient is so demanding and he will return to work soon so it will be challenging to balance that and taking me to appointments
Thank you all so much for your prayers and support! And thank you so much for all the meals I have been thoroughly enjoying them! Hope you all have a a happy new year~
